The trend is rooted in trust. Consumers are looking for transparent ingredient lists with traditional, natural and authentic ingredients.
A Clean Label product may still contain E-numbers. For example, citric acid is a natural ingredient even though it carries an E-number. What matters is that the ingredient list clearly explains what the E-number represents, so consumers know what the E-number refers to.
According to data from COOP Denmark’s consumer analysis, more consumers prefer to avoid E-numbers than sugar, gluten or carbohydrates. Most of the recipes we develop today follow Clean Label principles. At Kryta, Clean Label is standard practice.
